Intel reportedly partners with more smartphone makers in India

According to a report on IbnLive, Intel is patterning with another Indian-based smartphone manufacturer to create an Intel-based Android smartphone. The manufacturer is Karbonn Mobile and apparently the two have been working together on this project for a while now. Karbonn Mobile officials claim that they will release the Intel-Android smartphone by the end of 2012.

 Intel has begun a big push into the smartphone market after revealing its Atom Z2460 “Medfield” chip. Intel launched its first smartphone, the XOLO X900, in India back in April.The XOLO X900 featured a 1.6 GHz midfield processor as well as built-in NFC.  Intel then partnered up with Lenovo and released the K800 in China in late May. Orange also announced the San Diego intel-based smartphone in late May for UK customers with a release date of June 6th.

We currently have no info on an intel-based smartphone release in the US, but with all of the releases world wide, especially the UK one, a US release cannot be too far off the horizon. In the meantime we will keep you updated on the Karbonn Mobile intel smartphone and any info on a US intel smartphone.
