Google’s 16GB Nexus 7 sold out after strong demand
We did read about how the UK ran dry of the Nexus 7 last week, but it seems that the global tap for the Nexus 7 has stopped running – at least for the 16GB model. This is due to the fact that Google (and of course, Asus, the hardware manufacturer of the Nexus 7 tablet) is unable to keep up with the slew of orders it received. To make sure that they can handle the huge demand, Google has decided to halt all orders for the 16GB Nexus 7 tablet temporarily, having put up and has halted orders, instead placing a “coming soon” message on its site instead.
This is definitely a good problem to have, don’t you think so? Better than one which has tons of Nexus 7 tablets sitting on inventory shelves without anyone being interested to pick it up. It seems that demand for the smaller capacity 8GB model has been relatively low in comparison. The 8GB model will continue to be listed as “in stock,” sporting a delivery turnaround time of 3 to 5 business days, while the 16GB model has only one option – to “sign up to be notified by email” as and when available.
