Google Nexus 7 overclocked with custom kernel

Asus is the manufacturer of the highly sought after Google Nexus 7 tablet, where it already comes with a rather zippy NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, although it must be noted that this particular version of the Tegra 3 comes with just a clock speed of 1.2GHz, which is clearly slower that other tablets that feature the faster 1.6GHz clock speed. Well, there is nothing quite like fixing things yourself, which is why the introduction of a custom kernel to the Google Nexus 7 would result in it zipping along rather nicely at 1.6GHz.

According to Xda-developer forum member morfic, his version of DerKernel Trinity for the Google Nexus 7 is a custom kernel which will allow you to overclock your 7″ tablet to run in a more zippy manner, although I do wonder whether that is really necessary unless you are going to perform plenty of processor intensive tasks on your Google Nexus 7. Those who love tinkering around and experimenting would definitely not mind giving this particular custom kernel a go, but you ought to take note that things can go wrong with such customized kernels, so do perform a backup of all your important data beforehand!
