Chinese sellers now accepting pre-orders for the next-generation iPhone, says report
While Apple continues to shun its mouth from giving away tad details about its next-generation iPhone, China appears to be already accepting pre-orders for the highly-debated device. Albeit that sounds a little crazy, Reuters is reporting that the sellers on China’s largest e-commerce platform – Taobao Marketplace – are already accepting pre-orders, complete with mock-up pictures and purported technical specifications. As the pre-orders came, the opportunistic sellers reportedly asked for a deposit for the new iPhone, ranging from 1,000 yuan ($160) to a full upfront payment of 6,999 yuan ($1,100).
Reuters said that the sellers are planning to get the new iPhone in Hong Kong and the U.S. However, the sellers did not promise any specific dates and delivery time. “Demand is high. Yesterday someone just bought two phones. Altogether we have about two dozen orders,” one seller said. Now it appears that the sellers aren’t just interested in receiving pre-orders of the device. Reuters added that accessories such as hard-shell cases and silicone cases for the next-generation iPhone are also being sold. One seller reportedly told Reuters that the size of the cases are accurate and that they have already been confirmed by insider sources.
