AT&T to sponsor QuakeCon 2012

QuakeCon is less than a month away, and some additional details about the event have been announced. According to a press release this morning – it looks like AT&T will be back this year to sponsor its network for the event’s attendees. While I wasn’t there last year, QuakeCon 2011 was said to have “faster-than-ever streaming and networked gameplay thanks to AT&T” so I guess they can’t go wrong by working with them again.

For those of you not in the know, QuakeCon is an annual Bring-Your-Own-Computer (BYOC) LAN Party and gaming festival held in Dallas, Texas. Attendees to QuakeCon can bring their own computers to participate in tournaments or just attend to check out new hardware, software, and clothing from companies involved with id Software. While tickets for BYOC have sold out, you can still attend the event with a general attendance ticket (which happens to be free). Head over to the QuakeCon website for more details.
