Just yesterday we reported that according to a rumor, Virgin Mobile was set to launch the iPhone on its prepaid network sometime this week, thus making them the second carrier in the US to offer the iPhone on prepaid (Cricket was the first). Well if a prepaid iPhone was what you were after, you’re in luck as Virgin Mobile has officially announced that the iPhone will be arriving on its network come 29th of June. The carrier will be offering the iPhone 4S 16GB for $649 and the 8GB iPhone 4 at $549, prices which we’re sure some of you guys will balk at. However it should be noted that these prices are for the phone unlocked and off-contract, so that means you will not have to be tied down to two year contracts. Subscribers will be able to choose between several plans that range from $30-$50 a month. If you’d like to sign up to be notified when the iPhone has launched, head on over to Virgin Mobile’s website and leave your contact details!
