TomTom to launch on Android devices “fairly soon”
In case Google Maps was not enough for you as far as navigational systems are concerned, you might be somewhat jealous of iOS users who have access to GPS apps such as TomTom. Well if you’re an Android user and the color green is not the only one on the Android mascot, you’re in luck as TomTom’s co-founder, Peter-Fran Pauwels has said (via Pocket-Lint) that the Android version of its TomTom app will be released “fairly soon”. No specific dates were mentioned but he did confirm that the app is for real and that the “summer season is important for us”, leading us to believe that a summer release is on the table.
No word on how much it will cost, but given its asking price of $59.99 on the iTunes App Store, we wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up costing just as much when it arrives for Android. If that sounds a bit too pricey for your liking, Google Maps Navigation is a pretty decent alternative. Either way we will be keeping our eyes open for its launch so check back with us in the future for more updates!
