The Huawei Activa 4G is the company’s first LTE handset in the US, arriving on MetroPCS for $149
Huawei has largely been known for putting out affordable low to mid ranged Android devices in the past, although earlier this year at MWC they took the wraps off their Ascend D Quad, thus proving that the company had plans to enter the higher end market. However as powerful as the Ascend D Quad may be, one of its features that some might find lacking would be LTE. This is not to say that 3G networks aren’t fast enough, but for those looking to get in on the LTE bandwagon, the Ascend D Quad is most definitely out of the question.
The good news is that if an LTE handset from Huawei is what you’re after, the company has recently announced the Huawei Activa 4G. This would mark the first 4G LTE Huawei handset for the US market and it will be arriving on MetroPCS. The handset will pack an 800MHz processor and a 3.5” HVGA display. It will come with a 5MP rear-facing camera, a VGA front-facing camera, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will retail for $149 after rebate. Not too bad for a handset with LTE, right? More info on the Huawei Activa 4G can be found at MetroPCS’ website.
