Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S3 gets delayed due to “overwhelming demand”, pre-orders not affected

Sprint customers eager to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy S3 will have to wait for a couple of days to enjoy the device. Sprint has just announced that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be delayed due to the “overwhelming demand” of the device. Samsung reportedly informed Sprint that it will not be able to deliver enough units of the Galaxy S3 for Sprint on June 21. However, those who were able to pre-order Samsung’s “superphone” will be getting the device tomorrow as promised by Sprint. Note that this will be the 16 GB version of the device. Sprint said that it will begin shipping pre-orders for the 32GB version next week.

Due to overwhelming demand for Galaxy S® III worldwide, Samsung has informed us they will not be able to deliver enough inventory of Galaxy S III for Sprint to begin selling the device on June 21. We are working closely with Samsung on a delivery schedule to support our launch.

We have begun shipping pre-orders for the 16GB version of Samsung Galaxy S III and anticipate they will be delivered by June 21. We hope to begin shipping pre-orders for the 32GB version next week as we receive inventory. To check the status of your pre-order, please visit www.sprint.com/myorder.
