It has long been reported that Samsung and LG have made it difficult for Japanese firms, like Sony and Panasonic, to dominate the TV industry once again. But in this case, the it-takes-two-to-tango statement seems relevant. Let’s just hope, assuming that Reuters is correct, that the said Sony-Panasonic partnership will work to their advantage.
“While Sony is developing technology to fabricate screens using sprays, Panasonic is using inkjet printer technology to make prototype OLED screens, and has invested 30 billion yen ($374 million) to set up a test production line at a plant in Japan,” Reuters said while quoting the Nikkei Business Daily.
