Skype for Android passes 70 million download mark
So you own an Android-powered smartphone – just what kind of apps do you have installed on it? Just take some time to scroll through your program list, and if you happen to have Skype for Android, you can be quite sure that you are part of the 70 million plus people who have downloaded the app from the Google Play Store and installed it. In fact, there are more Android devices than ever before which support Skype video calling, where Skype claims that their Android app is available for download on over 1,300 Android-powered devices from HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, and LG amongst others.
Skype for Android enables you to perform video calls to just about anyone else on Skype, never mind if they are connected to Skype over a smartphone, a tablet, on a computer, or any other Skype supported device in existence. Skype for Android is currently available in 16 different languages, so what are you waiting for? You can be quite sure that part of the 10 million Galaxy S3s that Samsung plan to sell before July 2012 is over will also see Skype for Android downloaded and installed on them.
