Nokia Lumia 900 not offered by T-Mobile Germany because of the lack of an upgrade path?

The upgrade path from Windows Phone 7.5 Mango to Windows Phone 8 Apollo isn’t very clear yet. So far there have been reports that have suggested that Windows Phone 7.5 handsets will be upgraded to Windows Phone 8, while other reports have suggested that this will not be the case and that current Windows Phone devices will be left with Mango.

We’re not sure if T-Mobile Germany knows something we don’t, but it seems that as far as the European market is concerned, a T-Mobile Germany support staff as revealed via the forums that the reason why the carrier will not be selling the Nokia Lumia 900 is because they do not believe that the handset will be upgraded to Windows Phone 8 in the future.

However according to an official statement released by T-Mobile Germany in response to this statement (via the unwired), they are claiming that the statement made by their support staff was not an official one and that she has “no information where the statement above came from”. However the lack of an upgrade path from Mango to Apollo has long been believed to be the case and this statement, whether official or not, seems to corroborate it.

Either way what do you guys think? With Microsoft’s expected announcement of Windows Phone 8 to take place later today, perhaps all will be revealed then. Be sure to check back with us then for the update!
