No Retina displays for the next-gen iMac [Rumor]

With the introduction of a Retina display to the next-gen MacBook Pros this year, we’re sure that many are wondering if this is a trend that Apple plans to extend to the rest of its computer lineup in the future, such as the iMac. Now it has been rumored in the past that the new iMacs could feature a Retina display, but with the iMac failing to make an appearance at WWDC earlier this month has left many wondering when they will be able to see a refresh of the all-in-one desktop.

However earlier today, Instapaper’s developer, Marco Arment, published on his blog that according to multiple sources, the next iMac refresh will not be seeing Retina display and will instead be making an appearance in the Fall of 2012. He states that production yield along with bandwidth constraints will make it difficult for Apple to introduce a Retina capable 27” iMac, at least not anytime soon. With the launch of OS X Mountain Lion expected to be in July, Apple could be looking at launching the new iMacs and Mac minis alongside the release of the operating system as well.
