The chip is apparently still under the A5 moniker although it is not clear if it will be the A6 quad-core chip that many have speculated it would be. The GPU on the new iPhone has also been updated and is called the SGX543RC*, which according to the folks at 9to5 Mac does not technically exist yet which means we are looking at new technology over here. As far as RAM is concerned, iPhone owners can finally breathe a sigh of relief as it has been revealed that the iPhone 5 will be sporting 1GB of RAM.
What about data connectivity? Will the iPhone 5 be LTE enabled like the new iPad? Apparently it is currently running on the same Qualcomm baseband as the new iPad with 4G LTE capabilities, so unless something changes at the last minute, it looks like LTE is a go. A new processor, a new GPU and 1GB of RAM – it certainly sounds like the hardware features that many iOS users have been asking for but can we believe the information? With WWDC coming up next month, hopefully Apple will be revealing some details then so until an official announcement has been made, we suggest taking this information with massive doses of salt.
