Ford Keyfree Login from Ogilvy Paris on Vimeo.
Many of us use a variety of services that requires a login name and password. This includes online banking, Facebook, emails, forums, Twitter, etc. With so many passwords to remember, typing them can be quite tedious especially if you use a different user name and password for every site. While there are software solutions available to help you achieve that, Ford has come up with a different way which is through a password management app for the iPhone that uses Bluetooth technology to wirelessly manage your passwords, which will also automatically login for you when you are within range of your computer.
Dubbed Ford Keyfree, it will also require a Google Chrome extension (also of the same name) which will help save your Google, Facebook and Twitter passwords. Once the system has detected that your phone is within range and you are at the website, it will automatically login for you, thereby not requiring you to enter anything at all. Of course there is always the issue of security and what happens when your phone/laptop gets stolen, but for now it just seems like a pretty novel way to log into your Facebook/Twitter/Google accounts without having to press any keys. The system is currently available in France at the moment, but you can check out the video above to get an idea of what to expect.
