German multinational engineering and electronics company Bosch has recently unveiled what it calls to be the world’s first intelligent robot lawnmower. Enter Indego, a “robo-mower” that can do the job without human intervention. According to Bosch, its Indego is special being that it can mow in sequential rows, contrary to other robo-mowers that will randomly mow in different directions with the idea that they will eventually cover the whole lawn over time. The Indego can reportedly mow an area of up to 1,000 square meters. However, the company said that Indego will need to recharge itself after covering an estimated 200 meters.
Thankfully, the robo-mower can reportedly find its way into its charger to recharge its lithium-ion battery pack. Bosch added that Indego that can fully recharge itself after 90 minutes of charging and that it can resume its work from where it left off. But probably what’s more interesting about the robo-mower is its built-in audible alarm that will sound if it is removed from within the property of its owner. Bosch’s Indego lawnmower is currently available in Sweden for now, although the company said that an international release is underway. The suggested retail price, should the device launch in the U.S. soon, will be around $2,121.
