According to a report from research firm Gartner, Apple has an inventory turn metric of 74 which means that Apple turns over their entire inventory every five days, making this a pretty impressive feat for a consumer electronics company. The only company that managed to beat Apple is McDonalds with a 142.4 inventory turn which is basically every 2.5 days. Then again given the popularity of McDonalds, we can’t say that we’re too surprised. Some have attributed Apple’s success to Tim Cook’s logistic skills by streamlining operations by cutting excess costs and built-up stock. What do you guys think? Do you agree with Gartner’s report?
