Sony ST21i previewed
Eldar Murtazin and his merry band of henchmen tend to be able to get their hands on smartphones long before it arrives at the market, as well as being privy to insider industry information. Well, there has been hits and misses to date, but here we are with their rather comprehensive preview of the Sony ST21i, also known as ‘Tapioca’ if code names are your cup of tea. No idea on just which countries around the world will be on the receiving end of the Sony ST21i Tapioca when it arrives, but do not expect it to create such a buzz since it does not have the hardware to reside on the smartphone royalty spectrum. The hardware specifications are even touted to be inferior to the Xperia mini range, and from 2011, to boot.
Still, the Mobile-Review crew mentioned that the Sony ST21i has delivered a better impression compared to the Xperia U, where it will feature approximately 3GB of internal memory in addition to a microSD memory card slot. It is said that the Sony ST21i will run on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system just fine, although the hardware does seem to step out from circa early 2011.
Other specifications include a 3.2″ touchscreen display at 320 x 480 resolution, a Qualcomm MSM7227 800MHz processor with Adreno 200 GPU, 512MB RAM, a 3-megapixel camera without any LED flash, VGA video recording capability, and a 1,450mAh battery. Surely this is a budget phone when it arrives!
