The company said via press release that encrypting the ballot on the voter’s device before it is transmitted to the digital ballot box server is one of the critical security features offered by its online voting system. Scytl claims that this will prevent anyone, including system administrators, from violating voter privacy or jeopardizing the election results.
“By leveraging its pioneering security technology with Google and Apple’s mobile device platforms, Scytl has become the premier election technology provider to offer an online voting system that guarantees the highest standards in terms of both voter privacy and ballot integrity both on personal computers and mobile devices”, Gabriel Dos Santos, Vice President of Software Engineering at Scytl said.
It’s important to note that Scytl’s security technology has been internationally recognized for protecting privacy and results integrity. International organizations including the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology and the French Security Agency have audited Scytl’s security technology. It’s nice, but now they need to convince the government to spend the money.
