Mac users will be happy to hear that Apple has just launched its latest update to Mac OS X Lion today. If you can still remember our post a few days ago about the issue with the FileVault encryption program that, according to security researcher David Emry, allowed Mac passwords to be kept in plain text file, well, there’s good news. That’s because version 10.7.4 will be addressing that particular issue. The update also brings in a few fixes including the issue with the “Reopen windows when logging back in” setting that apparently is always enabled. OS X Lion 10.7.4 is also expected to improve the compatibility with certain British third-party USB keyboards and Internet sharing of PPPoE connections as well.
The update will also improve the use of proxy auto-configuration (PAC) file and printing to an SMB print queue. Mac users will also see an improved performance when connecting to a WebDAV server as well as the reliability of binding and logging into Active Directory accounts. And oh, by the way, the update also includes a new version of Apple’s Safari browser. Apple said that its Safari 5.1.6 browser is more stable than ever. “The 10.7.4 update is recommended for all OS X Lion users and includes general operating system fixes that improve the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac,” Apple said.
