Nokia extends their deal with Carl Zeiss for future smartphones
Carl Zeiss has been known for putting out some pretty high-quality lenses that do not come cheap, and that is probably one of the features that Nokia is trying to advertise for some of their phones. The good news is that if you were worried that Nokia might one day drop Carl Zeiss from their phones, fret not as Nokia themselves have announced that the company has extended their business arrangement with Carl Zeiss and will feature their lenses in some of their upcoming phones over the next few years. A good example we can think of would be the Nokia 808 PureView that was unveiled at MWC earlier this year. The handset featured a 41MP camera that utilizes a Carl Zeiss lens and it has been rumored that Nokia could be bringing the same technology onto a future Windows Phone device. Personally I’ve enjoyed Carl Zeiss optics when attached to DSLR cameras as opposed to smartphones, but I guess that would vary from photographer to photographer. What do you guys think? Does the inclusion of Carl Zeiss optics in Nokia’s phones make it seem like a more attractive purchase?
