Purported next-gen iPhone headphone jack and earpiece component surfaces
Apple is expected to unveil their next-gen iPhone later this year. With the announcement, many are expecting Apple to reveal a new design as well. There have been many rumors suggesting all sorts of designs, ranging from the use of liquid metal to a larger display and a smaller dock connector. While that remains pretty much up in the air at the moment, the folks at SW-Box (via Cydia Blog) have managed to get their hands on what they claim is the headphone jack and earpiece component for the “iPhone 5”.
Assuming this part is indeed that of Apple’s next-generation iPhone, we could be looking at a departure from the current component organization in the iPhone 4S, which in all fairness is not completely out of the ordinary. As much as we’d like to believe that a redesign of the iPhone is in order, this particular component does not really give us a clue as to what that redesign could look like. Either way we will be keeping our eyes and ears peeled so be sure to check back with us then for more info! In the mean time, what do you guys think? Could we be seeing a redesigned iPhone in 2012?
