Nest thermostat goes on sale at Apple Stores
The Nest Learning Thermostat that was launched in October last year, is finally available for sale over at Apple Stores. It has also been dubbed as the “iPod of thermostats” by some, sporting an elegant design that would surely jive whenever you place it beside the portable media player from Apple (that would mean the iPod touch, of course), and the selling price of the Nest Thermostat remains the same as though you were to purchase one from the website directly – that is, $249.95 a pop. This particular thermostat is said to be able to help you save money as well as energy by being able to learn user behavior automatically, making the necessary adjustments as and when required. It can also be controlled remotely over a Wi-Fi connection thanks to an iOS app, making it far more convenient to read, adjust and install compared to the majority of the other programmable thermostats.
It seems that Nest has some long time roots with Apple, where one of Nest Lab’s founders, Tony Fadell, actually oversaw 18 generations of the iPod in his capacity as a vice president at Apple. As for Matt Rogers, another founder, he worked on iPod software in the past.
