Microsoft offering refunds for certain Minecraft Xbox 360 customers
Minecraft for the Xbox 360 was a pretty big hit and one of its multiplayer features was that it allowed gamers to play together on the same console except that the screens would be split. However a caveat to that feature which Microsoft had apparently neglected to inform gamers was that the split screen feature was available only for those playing on HDTVs. What this meant is that gamers playing on regular TVs would not be able to enjoy the split screen multiplayer function, which could have been one of the reasons why they bought the game in the first place.
Microsoft has since updated the game’s page to reflect the requirement, and the good news is that if you bought the game prior to the notification update, it looks you will be eligible for a refund. According to Microsoft:
“We updated our pre-sale notification to inform customers that an HD screen is required for the split-screen multiplayer feature on Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition […] If a player does not have an HD screen and purchased this game prior to the notification update, they are eligible for a full refund through customer support.”
