If you’re one of the many people who bought the popular Samsung Galaxy Nexus, you probably love it to bits. But since that phone was released, the Android community has been accepting a few prominent new-comers to the bunch including the HTC One X and the latest Samsung Galaxy S3 which has been released in Europe only today. If you enjoy what you saw with the new design of TouchWiz that was featured on the Samsung Galaxy S3 but you’ve held back for some reason or other from buying it, the folks over at XDA have the perfect solution for your Galaxy Nexus.
They’ve developed a flashable theme pack that will turn CyanogenMod 9 for the Galaxy Nexus into a veritable Samsung Galaxy S3 devoid of the hardware of course. The add-on pack has been made with the CM9 ROM in mind. If you’re using other ROMS and want to give it a try, it isn’t advisable but if you insist, remember to do a Nandroid backup first. The pack includes most of the leaked elements from the Galaxy S3 that we’ve seen so far with the most significant change being the new TouchWiz launcher and other things such as Galaxy S3 applications such as a working S-Voice, icons, wallpapers and more.
On top of that, there are a few extras including Apollo Music Player just for good measure. Since it is basically just a bunch of applications and media it is reported to work well with all the variants of the Galaxy Nexus regardless of your location and service provider but please do so at your own risk. Remember this add-on pack is only available for rooted devices running the CyanogenMod 9 ROM (and maybe a few similar ones) so if you’re looking to get started with it, just click here to visit the original thread in the XDA forums.
