Facebook mobile redesigned
The Facebook experience on mobile devices has just gotten more efficient, at least that is what we think. Prior to the update, reading news feeds that involved plenty of photos can be quite a pain, since the experience is easily interrupted as you stop reading to load any interesting photos that pique your interest. Interestingly enough, a simple redesign to the Facebook mobile site for both iOS as well as Android platforms have increased the photo size – to that which is three times larger, letting you view single photos at full width without the need to open them, and bigger previews of photo albums will help nudge you towards a decision as to whether to go straight into checking out the rest of the photo album, or to continue reading your news feed.
Since the Facebook user base is increasingly mobile, there is far less viewing real estate for ads to be displayed, so Facebook needs to come up with a way to ensure the mobile experience is lengthier than normal, in addition to receiving more return visit frequencies. I suppose making the news feed easier to browse through is one way of doing so.
