Archos Child Pad 2 to feature capacitive touchscreen for $129? [Rumor]
While the Archos Child Pad has yet to hit our shelves, thanks to a leaked Archos road map (via TabletsMagazine), it seems that the company is already planning its successor, the rather uninspiring Archos Child Pad 2. While its hardware specs are expected to remain the same as the original Child Pad, one of the main differences is that it will feature a capacitive touchscreen display instead. For those unaware, the current Child Pad features a resistive touchscreen which helped to contribute to its low price tag of $129. Interestingly it seems that Archos has managed to include a capacitive display while maintaining a $129 for the Child Pad 2 – assuming the leaked road map is to be believed of course. While specifics have yet to be revealed, assuming the road map is to be believed and that the Child Pad 2 will feature the same internals as the original, would-be customers can look forward to a 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, access to the Kids App Store, parental controls and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
