300 Nook Color tablets with CyanogenMod run fireworks display sample
Now this is definitely an interesting take on what a tablet can do in the world of advertising as well as creating social awareness. In fact, up to 300 Nook Color tablets that were running on a customized version of CyanogenMod were used by fireworks retailer Phantom Fireworks to actually show off to customers just what kind of special effects their fireworks are able to throw up the moment the fuse is lighted. Of course, this idea is not all that new, but when you think about it, it is far better and easier for a customer service representative to carry around a tablet for interested and curious customers to look at instead of having them walk to a nearby TV to view a sample of the fireworks in action.
Phantom Fireworks, armed with 300 Nook Colors, will soon be able to present their fiery handiwork on 1024 x 600 pixel displays, with the 800MHz processor underneath the hood probably being able to do a great job in showing off just how the fireworks would look like when lighting up the night sky. A long battery life definitely helps the cause throughout the entire work day, and thanks to a wide viewing angle display and decent support for video playback, you’ve pretty much got everything down pat. Are there any other companies or businesses that you think might be able to benefit from doing something similar?
