As you might have expected, the Sony SmartWatch will allow Android users to receive text messages and notifications via the watch’s screen. It will also allow users to control their devices to a certain degree and will come with about 60 apps for the SmartWatch available upon launch. This includes apps for Facebook, Twitter and Google Maps.
A variety of straps will also be available for the SmartWatch in different colors, with each strap retailing for $20. The app that users will require in order to interface with the SmartWatch is available as a free download from the Google Play store, although it should be noted that Sony Android smartphones are expected to have the app preinstalled.
