In fact, Sharp is said to have reorganized their Kameyama Plant No. 2 in order for them to focus on the production of small- and medium-sized LCD panels which will see action in smartphones and tablets. These new displays will employ advanced IGZO oxide semiconductors, giving Sharp the ability to produce LCDs with smaller thin-film transistors as well as a higher level of pixel transparency while lowering energy consumption.
These new displays will come in sizes of 7″, 10″ and 32″, where the 32″ version that boasts a 3,840 x 2,160 resolution does not sound quite right for an Apple TV, it might just sneak in through the back door as an Apple product in the form of an iMac.
