Samsung’s ChatON could be making its way onto Windows Phone

We’ve seen Samsung’s proprietary instant messenger, ChatON, make its way onto a variety of platforms. Starting out with Android, the ChatON client went on to make its way into iOS and Blackberry devices, but where’s the love for Windows Phone? While Samsung had initially denied reports that they were working on ChatON for Windows Phone, a recent screenshot has shown that perhaps Samsung is indeed working on bringing ChatON onto Windows Phone after all.

The screen grab above is from the Italian version of the app availability section of the ChatON website. It also clearly shows a greyed out button for “Windows Mobile”. While this has yet to be confirmed or made official, we’re pretty sure that Samsung means Windows Phone and not Windows Mobile. Unfortunately no details on what the possible ChatON for Windows Phone could entail, but with Whatsapp already allowing users from multiple platforms to chat with each other for free already, do we really need an alternative messenger service? Either way, we’re sure that ChatON has its fans out there so we will be keeping an eye out for more news surrounding the possibility of a Windows Phone app, so remember to check back with us later for more updates.
