The Internet is abuzz with news of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the supposed 316ppi display which ought to send shivers down Apple’s spine, and even before it is high noon here in San Francisco, we unearthed word that the Galaxy S3 will feature a 4.8″ display instead of the earlier reported 4.65″ display. It seems that a senior official from Samsung Electronics has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will come with a 4.8″ display at 16:9 aspect ratio, making it ideal for watching movies on the upcoming smartphone. It would also be a travesty of the Galaxy S3 did not run on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. One thing is for sure – Samsung intends to really sock it to the smartphone industry with the Galaxy S3 that looks likely to remain king of the Android hill for some time to come after it is released, and as to whether it will cause a dent in the iPhone’s armor, that remains to be seen.
