A little over a week ago, we reported on a set of rumors that revealed that Samsung could be launching three new Windows Phone handsets in 2012, two of which were rumored to be Windows Phone 8 “Apollo” devices. Well according to reports, it seems that Samsung’s Taiwanese arm has confirmed that the company would be releasing Windows Phone 8 handsets and could be retailing them as early as October. The company claimed that their focus would be on the Windows Phone 8 “Apollo” platform as it would allow them to push out more powerful devices. For those who have noticed, the current series of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh devices all feature single-core processors as opposed to the iPhone and Android devices which feature dual-core processors and even quad-core ones as well. No word on the additional details of Samsung’s upcoming Windows Phone 8 handsets, but we will be keeping our eyes peeled so stay tuned.
