Our friends over at HowToArena (via BGR) have received information that Apple is allegedly planning to refresh its range of iMac computers this year sometime in June or July. The upcoming iMacs will be reportedly running Intel’s 22nm-based Core i5 and Core i7 Ivy Bridge processors. The information comes from a source that HowToArena rates as ‘reliable’.
Besides that, Apple is also rumored to be ramping up production to prepare for thinner 13 and 15 inch MacBook Pro models which will contain the same Ivy Bridge processors. Other rumors have suggested that iMac range that was last updated in May 2011 will feature an anti-reflective glass display, a slimmer profile and a lower weight compared to the current iMacs.
Last year’s iMac range ran using Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors, a high-speed Thunderbolt port and a high-definition FaceTime camera. As usual, this is just another rumor so take it with a pinch of salt from the jar we expect you to have beside your computer by now.
