Doomsday shelter lets you live out apocalyptic scenarios
Money might not be able to buy you happiness, but if you have enough of it, you can be sure that you can do your possible part to prolong your time here on earth. Check out the Doomsday shelter image above, where it is currently being constructed under a Kansas prairie so that millionaires are able to wait out any potentially apocalyptic scenario in style and comfort. So far, four buyers have registered their interest in investing in one of these luxurious underground pads, where an indoor farm is capable of providing fish and vegetables to feed up to 70 people for as long as it is necessary to literally lie low. It will cost you $7 million though, and it does seem to be the perfect place to be in the event of a zombie breakout.
According to developer Larry Hall, if you have the money, you can enjoy plenty of options when living underground, where the converted nuclear missile silo is capable of hosting a medical center, a school, a swimming pool, a movie theater (reruns get boring fast!), and a library among others. I do wonder what happens when there is a power outage, and nobody is an engineer around – living like a mole is definitely no fun then, and without electricity, one might just suffocate to death down there. Ah well, at least $7 million buys you a fighting chance in the event of an apocalyptic event – just keep your fingers crossed that no earthquakes are in the vicinity to rip your luxury underground pad apart.
