Not just limited to one specific region, there have been user reports from Australia, Switzerland, Denmark and the UK who are reporting the same issue. According to TomTom, one of the temporary workarounds would be to reset their devices. A forum thread has since been started regarding the issue, so if you’re suddenly discovering that your TomTom GPS system has gone a bit wonky, perhaps this might explain why. The company has since issued an apology saying “Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.”
Update – TomTom has since issued an update to address the “leap year bug”. The update should now be available via MyTomTom. Instructions for updating your device can be found over at TomTom’s website.
