Archos Child Pad hits the FCC
If the previously announced Archos Child Pad sounded like a perfect gift for your child, you will be interested to hear that the device has recently made a pit stop at the FCC, signaling that you might not have to wait too long before you will be able to get your hands on the device despite Archos having already missed its “late March” availability date. For those unfamiliar, the Child Pad is a child-friendly 7” Android tablet that features a Kids App Store, parental controls and safe web browsing.
Under its hood parents can expect to find a 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board. Also according to the FCC filing, it has been revealed that the tablet will only come with WiFi connectivity. This is probably good news for parents who’d rather not their kid rack up a whopping monthly data bill of epic proportions. While a new release date has not been mentioned, expect to fork out $129 for it when it eventually hits the shelves.
