SK Telecom to roll out Android 4.0 update for Samsung Galaxy S2 tomorrow?

Just the other day we reported that apparently the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Galaxy S2 was scheduled for the 10th of March. It was later refuted by Samsung who claims the post was made in error, but now it looks like we might have a new date. Unfortunately it seems that this date is only for SK Telecom subscribers over in South Korea, who had tweeted that the update will be available come 13th of March at 10am local time.

Perhaps the carrier might have gotten ahead of itself as the tweet has since been removed, but thanks to the good folks over at The Verge, they have managed to capture and save the tweet for posterity (screenshot pictured above). If that is the case, why would the tweet be removed? Well they have speculated that perhaps Samsung wanted to make the announcement for themselves – after all, the Galaxy S2 is one of the company’s hottest devices, and updating it to Android 4.0 is certainly a big deal.

In any case, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled to see if SK Telecom subscribers receive the update tomorrow, because if they do, we’re guessing it shouldn’t be too long before the update is pushed to the rest of the world.
