Nokia’s concept Windows Phone UI surfaces
We’ve always known that Nokia and Microsoft have a special partnership when it comes to Windows Phone, wherein Microsoft allows Nokia a little more leeway in terms of customizing their Windows Phone devices and adding features compared to their other manufacturing partners, but what to extent does that leeway extend until? Thanks to the folks at PocketNow, they have managed to get their hands on a couple of screenshots of a preliminary mockup of a possible Windows Phone UI that appears to be a complete departure from what Microsoft had in mind.
These mockups were apparently designed by a senior designer at Nokia’s R&D and it shows a pretty artsy looking UI. We’re not sure how functional such a UI could be, but it looks pretty good anyway. In any case, the designer has reportedly left Nokia for another company, and Nokia has since released a statement regarding the design of UI, claiming that the designs ”are purely her own personal design explorations and were never part of any project being done at or for Nokia.” What do you guys think? Would such a UI be more appealing compared to Microsoft’s Metro UI interface?
