Kobo eReading app for Windows 8

Did you catch the Windows 8 Consumer Preview yesterday? If not, you can always read all about it here as we covered the event live. It did not take too long for Kobo to announce their eReading app for Windows 8, making Kobo one of the first ebook retailers to come up with an app of theirs, where one can download it from the Windows Store. Developed using HTML and Java Script, Kobo’s app is said to deliver a personalized, secure and central destination, allowing folks to manage their whole Kobo reading experience in a jiffy.

Some of the new features include a revamped look and feel to make it fresh, while a new and improved interface will help you concentrate more on your books than fiddling around, trying to figure out how the app works. One thing about ebooks is this – they’re as heavy as your ebook reader, unlike those tomes that are collecting dust at home, and speaking of dust, you need not clean your bookshelves once in a while – simply because there is nothing physical about the ebook other than the device carrying those files.
