HTC One X and One S could face delays over Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 production halt
The HTC One X is reported to be headed AT&T’s way and will be compatible with the carrier’s 4G LTE network. Unfortunately this means that the device will not be sporting NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 quad-core processor, but will instead rely on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 processor instead. However according to recent reports, TSMC, the manufacturer of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 has apparently put a halt to production about three weeks ago in order to make changes to its production process, and what this could mean for HTC One X and One S would-be owners is that both devices could be seeing possible delays.
No word on when production is expected to resume, but the reports have stated that volumes are expected to be back at normal levels by the end of March. If this is to be believed, there is a chance that HTC could have been informed about this delay, so that April launch date could have already taken any possible delay into consideration. In any case, we will be keeping our eyes peeled for any more news regarding said delay, so check back with us again in the future for more updates on the situation.
