HTC enables offline navigation for their Windows Phone devices
One of the perks of owning a Nokia Lumia handset is that it comes with several exclusive features. One of them includes the ability to download maps offline and use it for navigation in places that do not offer WiFi or have poor cell coverage (much like cacheing Google Maps for Android). Well the good news for HTC Windows Phone owners is that the company will be introducing offline navigation for its own series of Windows Phone handsets which almost puts them on par with Nokia’s offerings.
The app is dubbed Locations and has recently been updated to allow users to download maps for offline use and navigate through them. It will also feature turn-by-turn voice guidance for both walking and driving and is created by TomTom, so at least users can rest assured that there is ample coverage and a certain level of quality involved. The update is currently available for download so what are you waiting for? This should also help users who are trying to decide between HTC or Nokia as their next/new Windows Phone device.
