Epson Moverio BT-100 see-through wearable display runs on Android
When someone comes up with the name ‘Epson’, most of us would think of it as a printing company that churns out projectors for classrooms and organizations as well. However, they offer something different this time around with the Epson Moverio BT-100, where it is touted to be the first see-through wearable display in the world that is powered by Google’s Android operating system. Talk about a spanking new way of interacting with 2D and 3D digital content! The Epson Moverio BT-100 will rely on the wonders of micro-projection technology and an Android-powered track-pad controller so that users are able to view streaming video, experience side-by-side 3D content as well as enjoy downloaded digital content on what might look like a virtual 80″ perceived screen that has been projected into the actual environment.
Other hardware specifications include integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, a battery life of nearly half a dozen hours, a microSD memory card slot, and 1GB of internal memory to get you started right out of the box.It supports Adobe Flash 11 as well, which is great since there are still plenty of supporters for the Flash format despite being sidelined by Apple, but the asking price of $699.99 places this well out of reach of the ordinary Joe who has better ways of spending that kind of money.
