Blackberry PlayBook owners if you’re looking to get a bit more productivity out of your tablet, you’ll be pleased to hear that the PlayBook is set to receive an official Bluetooth keyboard accessory from The Source, an online electronics retailer. Sure there are plenty of Bluetooth keyboard accessories available in the market, but this will be the only keyboard that has been released by none other than RIM themselves.
They keyboard accessory will sport multi-touch functionality, allowing users to navigate their PlayBook tablet much like a laptop or desktop computer, complete with left and right clicks, and can be folded up together with your tablet for convenience and portability. It will also sport 128-bit encryption for a secure Bluetooth connection and will reportedly last for 30 days on a single charge. When the keyboard runs out of juice, users will be able to recharge it using the Blackberry PlayBook charger, so there’s no need for an additional charger that you will need to bring with you when you’re traveling.
The Blackberry PlayBook keyboard is currently up for pre-order via The Source for $99.99 or Blackberry’s website for $119.99, and is expect ed to ship by the 23rd of March.
