AT&T not pushing out Windows Phone 8107 update

AT&TBad news for Windows Phone users on AT&T: if your smartphone is suffering from the “disappearing keyboard” issue, it looks like you won’t be getting the fix for it anytime soon. According to an announcement from the AT&T Community Manager, the carrier has no plans to offer the Windows Phone 8107 update to its subscribers. This would make it the second time that AT&T will be skipping an update, the previous one being update 7740.

While AT&T hasn’t given any explanation to why it won’t be pushing out the update, speculation has it at the carrier being more interested in selling new handsets as opposed to updating its older ones. With the launch of the Nokia Lumia 900 rumored to be just around the corner, it makes sense. However, the reason for skipping the update could also be due to the fact that the Tango/Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh update might be arriving soon (which hopefully fixes the problem).

Regardless of the reason, it looks like a lot of AT&T customers are going to be annoyed at having to deal with keyboard problems for awhile longer. Any of you experiencing the disappearing keyboard bug on your Windows Phone devices?
