ZTE Mimosa X: the first NVIDIA Icera modem smartphone
NVIDIA and ZTE have just announced the launch of the ZTE Mimosa X, the first smartphone to be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC and an NVIDIA Icera modem. This marks the first time that NVIDIA technology is used to power all the major processors in a single smartphone. The phone packs an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, NVIdia Icera 450 HSPA+ modem (14 HSPA+ with IceClear interference cancellation technology), a 4.3″ (960 x 540) display, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a rear 5-megapixel camera (HD video capable), front facing camera, 4GB of storage (expandable to 32GB).
The phone will also feature advanced audio distribution profile (A2DP), Dolby Sound, Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) compatibility, dual microphones, a built-in gyroscope, and access to the TegraZone. No word on pricing, but the phone will hit the market around Q2 2012. Hopefully we’ll get our hands on the phone at MWC 2012, so stay tuned for more details.
