This was announced during the carrier’s earnings call which showed some pretty disappointing figures, along with what appears to be a loss of 800,000 subscribers. With that reality check, the carrier announced that “T-Mobile USA is reinvigorating its challenger strategy, which includes a major network modernization plan to launch LTE in 2013.” In a way T-Mobile should be thanking AT&T for the spectrum that was given to them as compensation over the failed AT&T/T-Mobile merger.
No specific timeframe was given, which means that it could be launched early 2013, or late 2013, but either way it makes T-Mobile the last of the four major carriers to launch a 4G LTE network of their own, but still an upgrade that subscribers can look forward to.
