Most smartphones have a decent amount of processing power underneath the hood, and there will always be a high-end model that tend to take the spotlight. Mid-range smartphones get glossed over and should be the most popular among the demographic of tech users, while entry-level smartphones? Those are not exactly hot stuff either, but it is a gateway or an entry point to those who might then move up the smartphone ladder hierarchy after that. Synaptics has come up with a smaller ClearPad 2200 series controller that was specially designed for smartphones, specifically for those that do not exceed 4″ in screen size. I guess those are rather rare these days, since many smartphones released have a screen size of at least 4.3″ – and above, what with the LG Optimus Vu and the Galaxy Note from Samsung.
The new generation Synaptics ClearPad 2200 series controller is the first of its kind to utilize SignalClarity technology that claims to give the signal-to-noise ratio a shot in the arm for improved accuracy and finger separation. No idea on just which manufacturer will share their lot with the ClearPad 2200 series controller, but time will tell. [Press Release]
