Samsung eyeCAN mouse for disabled folk
Most of us who are able bodied tend to take our computing experience for granted – that is, we do not really give too much thought of our limbs which others lack, and we use the mouse effortlessly as we navigate from one webpage to another. How about those who are paralyzed, or have lost their limbs due to an accident, disease or in war? Here is some comforting news – as long as your eyes can still move, you are in with a shout to use a computer. Samsung has come up with the eyeCAN, a special glasses mounted solution which is capable of tracking someone’s eye movement, translating those movement into a cursor moving all over the computer display. It is still in the prototype stage as at point of publishing, but Samsung hopes to perfect it and eventually sell the eyeCAN solution to the general public. I like the name itself, which has a positive ring to it.
