The handset will be seeing a launch in Spring and will be both waterproof and dustproof. It will also feature a 4.3” 960×540 qHD display, NFC support and will run on Android as its choice of operating system. Unfortunately Panasonic deigned to mention which version of Android it would be using, although if we had to guess we’d say most likely Gingerbread 2.3. The Panasonic Eluga will also be able to double up as a remote control for Panasonic’s line to televisions.
Unfortunately apart from these details, the rest of the specifications for the Panasonic Eluga remain somewhat elusive at this point in time, so check back with us again later as we’ll keep you updated!
Update – We have learnt that the Panasonic Eluga will feature a 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor, 1GB of RAM, will come with 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded via microSD and will run on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread as its platform of choice. However those looking forward to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich can expect the update to arrive in Spring 2012.
